The core of our NodeMCU ESP8266 Internet of Things Beginner Set is based on the NodeMCU Development Board Ver.3. The NodeMCU Development Board is based on the ESP-12E, the extended Version of the Espressif ESP-12. With a Flashsize of 32Mbit the ESP-12E is optimized for supporting Firmware such as:

  • NodeMCU (pre installed)
  • Espressif
  • Espruino (Javascript)
  • and much more



Besides typical IoT Interfaces such as

  • GPIO
  • UART / RX TX

the NodeMCU Devolpment Board Ver.3 has also an integrated USB TTL / serial Converter, based on CH340. For starting into Internet of Things just connect the NodeMCU Development Board with the USB A to USB B Micro Adapter Cable (included) with a free USB Interface.

Required Driver are available as free Download on our Webside.

Compared to an AI Thinker ESP-12E Module there is no need connecting GPIO thru resistors to GND for Flashing nor Reset, simply press integrated FLASH or RST Button.
